Elite's patented EnviroGen® Energy Modules are the ultimate in efficiency and ease-of-use when it comes to combined heat power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, applications. These self-contained miniature power plants deliver highly reliable levels of ultra-clean combined heat power with minimal noise and emissions. Though packaged to eliminate exposure to outside elements, these modules are surprisingly easy to access when service or maintenance is needed.

When your energy needs call for more than one module, our unique skid delivery system allows us to place multiple units on one platform–maximizing performance while minimizing space requirements.

Below we’ve outlined some of the features of our combined heat power EnviroGen® Energy Modules:

Module Base Design

  • Sound attenuation materials
  • 4” mineral wool
  • ¼” steel plate construction
  • 2 lb/sq ft foam/decoupled vinyl barrier
  • Seismic isolation
  • Secondary containment basin
  • Side and front fork pockets
  • Wire access raceway
  • Watertight construction

Enclosure Construction

  • Protected from the elements, yet easily accessible for maintenance
  • Lift-off doors and access panels
  • Sound-eliminating air ducts further reduce engine noise
  • Enclosure finish features powder coat over zinc lock
  • Integrated design
  • Synchronous or inductive generators
  • Separate controls cabinet includes battery charger and stored energy breaker
  • Stainless steel EGHX
  • Opposed combustion and exhaust air
  • Mechanical enclosure fan
  • Piping options for gas or hot water connections

Roof Construction

  • Pitched roof section ensure condensation/water run-off
  • Electrical section remains covered while roof is off
  • Large access area means easy engine change-out

Exhaust & Aftertreatment

  • Stainless steel exhaust system
  • Standardized emissions and after treatment

Other Features

For this project, Elite installed four EnviroGen® modules that run in unison to provide 900 kWe of electricity to the facility. The system runs in parallel to existing utilities, providing a constant source of power during blackouts or scheduled maintenance to the CHP system.

A study conducted five months after the hospital’s CHP system went online shows the application to be operating at 97 percent uptime. Thanks to the dependability of this system, John Muir is able to create enough heat and power for the entire 259-bed acute care facility on site, with minimal dependence on the utility grid.
